Cleaning up a list
Duplicate lines creep into lists when you merge files, export data or copy from several sources. This tool keeps the first copy of each line and drops the rest.
Options explained
- Ignore case treats "Apple" and "apple" as the same line.
- Ignore spaces treats " apple " and "apple" as the same, and drops blank lines.
Order is preserved, so the first time a value appears is where it stays.
Frequently asked questions
Does it sort the list?
No, it only removes duplicates and keeps the original order. Use the line sorter for ordering.
Are blank lines removed?
Only when you tick the option to ignore leading and trailing spaces.
Is there a size limit?
No hard limit, but extremely large lists may take a moment on a phone.
